The Nelson Lab

Synthesis & Structure

Research Topics

The Nelson Lab at Caltech is a multidisciplinary research group focused on developing next generation tools for organic chemistry. This goal is pursued through two primary research areas: organic synthesis and structural chemistry.

Structural Chemistry

Utilizing transmission electron microscopes (TEMs), we determine molecular structures from small natural products to large biomolecules, leveraging real-space imaging, electron diffraction, automation, and ML-driven data processing.
